as you cram in pre-fried fries.
The fabric softener is lurking in the laundry,
while you reach out for the drying line.
Shower gel scans you,
as you slide soapy bubbles over your skin.
To keep your head from aching,
you sip water brimming with plastic and undeleted data.
A microchip’s cheap. Everything’s cheap.
And still, so painfully expensive.
You’re deciding
whether to live here —
or over there, lost in digital noise.
You’re kind of recorded anyway."
